Very special place! Perched on the coast of Laguna, Surf & Sand provides a wonderful experience. The new renovation is elegant and refined. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and classy with upgraded amenities. The coastal decor blends perfectly with the surroundings. Pool and hot tub are great temperatures. Plenty of staff to assist with chairs and umbrellas for the beach as well. The entire staff is very friendly and accommodating. Food and beverage is of great quality as well, however, be forewarned, it is marked up significantly higher here than other establishments. Will definitely stay here again!

It is my experience that pictures always look far better than real life. In many cases, pictures are misleading and reality is disappointing. HOWEVER, the Surf and Sand looks the same if not better in person than in the pictures shown on your website. When we entered our room, my jaw dropped. I could not believe how beautiful the room and view were. The entire resort is breathtaking. Hannah was amazing. All the staff we encountered were. What a fantastic way to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my husband’s birthday! We will be back and will recommend the Surf and Sand to all our friend and family…and strangers too! Thank you for making our short, 2 night stay one of our most enjoyable and memorable vacation experiences yet!

We came to Splashes to celebrate a birthday dinner. The view was beautiful and the atmosphere was great without it being too loud. The cocktails stood out and the lobster bisque and tuna special was fabulous. Our waiter Carson made the experience extra special and was very attentive. From providing a blanket for one of our friends because she was cold, to a thorough explanation of the wine list and even ordering a dessert with a candle for the birthday girl. Thanks for a fabulous time, Carson! We’ll be sure to visit the restaurant again soon.

This is a luxurious hotel with an excellent location and unique views. Some ocean-view rooms have balconies that are practically on the beach, offering stunning sunset views or the option to enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner right on the balcony (since similar restaurants within the hotel require reservations and are often fully booked). The chicken sandwich at the fireplace area isn't tasty; the chicken is bland and lacks flavor. You can fall asleep each night listening to the sound of waves. The rooms are modern, elegant, clean, and well-maintained, featuring electric blackout roller shades on the balcony. You can watch the 2026 World Cup directly on TV. It's also very convenient to walk to nearby shopping streets or other restaurants. The only minor inconvenience is that the hotel restaurant requires advance booking. Parking costs around $65 per day, but if you're comfortable with the room rate, this isn't much of an issue 😅.

We had an amazing dinner at Splashes to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and everything exceeded our expectations. The food was absolutely delicious — every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The service was outstanding from start to finish; the staff were attentive, warm, and made us feel truly welcome. What really touched us was the surprise birthday pudding with a candle that they prepared for my wife — such a thoughtful and sweet gesture! It made the evening extra special and memorable. Thank you, Splashes, for making our celebration so wonderful. We’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this place to our friends and family! 🎂✨

We had dinner at splashes, and it was such a wonderful experience. From beginning to end. The view was beautiful, the service was amazing, and the food was beyond words. Our server Jhoana made our first dining experience truly memorable. She answered all of our questions and was very detailed when explaining the menu. She was very knowledge with the wine selection and recommended the best wine to pair with our food. Her professionalism and kindness will definitely make us want to return to splashes. Highlight recommend dining here and especially requesting Jhoana as your server.

Exceptional! The restaurant was so accommodating for our anniversary. Beautiful table with a view. Our waiter Aaron was great! Knowledgeable, friendly and efficient to say the least. Pepe was also on top of it and so sweet. Food was creative and delicious. Overall, staff, ambience, food all 5 stars!

My girlfriend and I recently celebrated our 1-year anniversary at Splashes, and the entire experience was absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere, the ocean views, and the warm hospitality made the evening feel truly special. A huge thank you to our waiter, Patrick, who went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. His attentiveness, professionalism, and friendly personality made us feel incredibly welcomed and well taken care of throughout the night. The food was spectacular—every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The cocktails were just as impressive: refreshing, perfectly balanced, and they paired flawlessly with the stunning view of the ocean. It honestly felt like the perfect place to celebrate such an important moment for us. We’re very grateful to Patrick and the entire team for creating such a memorable evening. If you’re looking for an amazing dining experience with incredible food, delicious cocktails, breathtaking views, and outstanding service, Splashes is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back!

Can't say enough good things about the hotel, the staff, the service! We celebrated our anniversary as the hotel and had a spectacular experience. They did a major renovation a few years ago and the room was awesome! Really well appointed, super comfy, and incredible views of the ocean! The staff was particularly friendly and accommodating, particularly for a reservation we made that was somehow not found. We ate at Splashes, their restaurant, for lunch and dinner and the food and service was exceptional. One caveat: if you're vegan/vegetarian, they don't have any plant-based protein options (tofu, veggie burger, etc.), which is not that unusual, but would be an awesome addition. If you're looking for a truly first class experience in Laguna Beach -- or anywhere in Southern California, this is the place!
